Ekadashi

The eleventh day of each lunar fortnight; observed by many Hindus with fasting (no rice, no grains).

Definition

Ekadashi falls twice a month and is observed by a significant share of Indian Hindus, especially in older catchments. Rice and wheat-based dishes see a 20–35% drop on Ekadashi days; sabudana, makhana, and fruit-based items lift correspondingly.
