June–July 2026 drives found rats and cockroaches, expired stock, reused frying oil, staff without medical fitness certificates, broken refrigeration, food wrapped in newspaper, and outlets forcing bottled water purchases. Mumbai named six suspended outlets; Pune suspended seven more in the first week of July.
